Also remember that sometimes the conditions you request may not be realistic or modifiable. Your doctor’s opinion on this matter is also very important.

Believe that the most accurate physician may not be the one who operated on you, but the one who refused your surgery, perhaps for justifiable reasons, and who distanced you from rhinoplasty.

I think this information is very important before rhinoplasty surgery. I believe that the fear-anxiety before the surgery can only be overcome with real and detailed information. People are afraid of what they do not know. Therefore, I think that their mastery of all processes is one of the important factors in making my patients comfortable.

The real question starts here: How realistic are these computer programmes? I take photos of all my patients, record them, even take them again at all controls and watch the healing period.

The question of massage after surgery is a question we have often heard from patients. However, it should be noted that massages do not correct the nose after a poorly performed surgery or distort the shape of the nose after a well performed surgery.

I do not recommend nasal massage to my own patients. Although many patients think that massage will shape the nose, I recommend cleaning and care to increase the oxygenation level of the skin during the healing period.

Therefore, you should definitely be examined by an Ear, Nose and Throat specialist before your surgery. Because the reason why you cannot breathe may not be so simple. A detailed nasal endoscopic examination will give very important information.

It is also very important to evaluate the condition of your nasal flesh, the presence of allergic diseases, the presence of other problems such as sinusitis and polyps. Otherwise, it is not possible to get good air through your nose. This is the reason for the beautiful but non-functioning noses that we encounter very often.
This is the point where plastic surgeons make a mistake. Your breath may not improve only by correcting the nasal cartilage-bones.

Deviation, popularly known as nasal bone curvature, is the curvature of the cartilage bone wall in the middle of the nose. People with nasal bone curvature usually complain of nasal congestion and inability to breathe.

The important thing is not the age limit, but the development of bone and cartilage structure. However, although there is no written rule in aesthetic surgeries, experts do not recommend applications under the age of 18. Legally, the signature of the family is required for children under the age of 15.

If it becomes difficult to breathe through one of the nostrils due to a curvature in the structure called “septum”, which forms the midline of your nose, consisting of bone in the back and cartilage in the front, this is called “Septum deviation”. While the curvature in the septum can sometimes be corrected without surgery with a simple surgical intervention, sometimes it can be corrected with aesthetic reconstruction using cartilages taken from the ear or rib.

In order for rhinoplasty surgery to be successful, solid cartilage tissues are needed to change the shape of your nose in the way you want.

I liken this surgery to construction. Just as materials such as iron, sand and cement are needed during construction, cartilage and bone tissues are needed in rhinoplasty. If you have health and aesthetic surgeries at different times, if your nasal cartilages are removed and unusable in the first surgery, this will cause cartilage deficiency in your second nose surgery. The tissue deficiency in your second surgery, that is, in your nasal construction (because your nose does not have enough cartilage in it) will require cartilage from your rib.

There is no permanent loss of smell after nose surgeries. It is normal to feel different sensitivities while the tissues in the nose have not fully healed in the new stages of the surgery, but nose surgeries do not permanently lose your sense of smell.

The accumulation of crusts, blood clots or slimy tissues in the nasal cavities that are not well cared for during the healing process restricts the person’s ability to smell and breathe. For this reason, it will positively affect your healing process if you perform the care provided to you fully and regularly after rhinoplasty surgery.

If the asymmetry is caused by the facial structure, this asymmetry continues after the surgery. Because the human face never has complete symmetry. The height distances of the two ears, two eyes or cheeks are always different from each other. Since the asymmetries on the face will continue after the surgery, those caused by this will continue, but as long as the surgery is performed correctly and successfully, it will not cause new asymmetries.

Although very large asymmetries can be brought to a more normal level with procedures such as fat filling, it is not possible to completely eliminate asymmetries from creation.

Rhinoplasty is frequently requested by men today. Both problems related to breathing function and treatments for the appearance of the nose can be performed simultaneously.

Since male patients have a much thicker skin than women, their recovery period will also be somewhat longer. For a male patient with a busy work life, a 1-week rest period is quite sufficient. After the first dressing on the 7th day, the patient can return to his social and business life on the 8th day.

Surgeries for male patients are a delicate balancing act. The patient should have a nose that does not look feminine after surgery, natural and in harmony with his face. The new shape of the nose can be shaped according to the patient’s expectations. Communication in preoperative interviews forms the backbone of success.

Although male and female rhinoplasty seem to be based on the same principles, male rhinoplasty is an operation that should be planned very carefully.

Because factors such as nasal curvature and degree of lift, which are created carelessly and carelessly during rhinoplasty, can lead to a feminine result after surgery. For this reason, in male rhinoplasty, the angle of the nose should be calculated very meticulously and the shape of the nasal dorsum should be planned correctly.

Naturalness and natural appearance should be considered as an important element of male rhinoplasty surgery. For this reason, I encounter many male patients who still want a slight arch on the back of the nose after surgery. I find this request very justified.

Another very important factor in male rhinoplasty is that men often have thick skin.

With tipplasty, that is, nasal tip aesthetics, aesthetics can be performed only in the tip of the nose without interfering with the nasal arch. This procedure is a much shorter and easier procedure compared to rhinoplasty.

Nasal tip aesthetic surgery allows the patient to be discharged on the same day without the need for hospitalisation. Only the type area (tip of the nose) is changed without any change in the back of the nose.

After nasal tip surgery, silicone air channel strips can sometimes be placed in the breathing channels, but no plaster is placed on the back of the nose after these surgeries. There will be a bandage on the tip of the nose that will not disturb the patient. These bandages are often removed after the first 5 days.

Of course, patients suffering from sinusitis can have nose surgery. However, sinus surgery may require treatment with very different techniques and approaches than rhinoplasty surgery. Both processes can be done simultaneously or at different times. With different approaches for sinusitis patients, there will be a significant increase in the quality of life of these patients. If the patient also requests a change in the appearance of the nose, it is possible to perform two surgeries at the same time.

There are two reasons for this. Firstly, her nose is not really beautiful and the patient rightly does not like her nose and is not happy. Secondly, her nose can be beautiful on its own. However, it may not be compatible with his face. Therefore, it is a very good example that explains that beautifying the nose alone does not actually make the patient happy.
What needs to be done here is to evaluate the patient’s face and perceive that the face and beauty are a whole.

After a nose surgery performed with the correct technique and approach, the tip of the nose will not fall off. Because the intranasal support in these surgeries is based on solid foundations and the positive result you will receive after the surgery will last a lifetime. However, nasal tip drooping may occur in the long term after incorrect and incomplete interventions or inexperienced surgeries that remove excess cartilage from the inside. With the corrective surgery, nose tip support is restored. With the surgical facilities and techniques we have today, we can even treat the completely collapsed noses of people who have had multiple unsuccessful nose surgeries.

Nose rasping is the process of thinning the bridge of the nose and shaping it into the desired shape, performed during rhinoplasty surgery. Currently, this process can be done very easily with sound waves without the need for rasping with a piezo device.

Piezo is an advanced surgical system and this system works only with sound waves and is sensitive to bone tissue. Therefore, mini saws that work with this sound wave do not damage the veins, soft tissues, nerves and skin of patients during surgery. This significantly shortens the patient’s recovery period.

Since the traumas seen during nose rasping in old techniques are not seen in the piezo system working with sound waves, patients can return to their social and business life very comfortably within a few days.

The inside of our nose is the size of a matchbox. It is not a very large place. And there is a partition inside that separates the two holes. Most surgeries are performed as if it were caused by the curvature there.

Why are there two holes in our nose?

One hole and the other hole of our nose do this job by taking turns. One works for 3 hours and the other works for 3 hours.

It is possible to have the nose you want after a well-planned and performed surgery performed by an experienced physician. Studies show that revision nose rates are below 5 percent. I think the most important thing you need to know about revision surgeries as a surgery candidate is the scope, that is, the size of this second surgery.

You may also have to undergo revision surgery due to very small millimetric asymmetries or superficial roughnesses in your nose, in which case these problems can be corrected with very short local procedures. Or you may have collapses in your nose, asymmetries, breathing problems, and in the second surgery, cartilage may need to be removed from your ear or ribs.

So, you may feel the need for truly comprehensive nose surgery. It is necessary to clearly distinguish these two surgeries. I define the second one as revision nose surgery.

• In the second meeting, I believe that the smallest details of the nose surgery candidate’s surgery should be discussed with him/her and that a completely personalized surgery plan should be created together.
• I think it is very useful for the candidate to have a companion during the second interview. I think the surgery is also a very special moment. I think these meetings are very important in terms of providing detailed information about the surgery to the companions who will help with this part of life.
