During the examination, first of all, the symptoms will be determined and then you will be asked whether you have previously experienced any trauma that could damage your nose or whether you have had a nose surgery.
Your doctor will then perform a nasal examination to measure the degree of curvature. For more detailed examination, endoscopic examination and computed tomography may be requested.
During the endoscopic examination, the details of the inside of the nose and the respiratory tract can be seen with micro cameras and the curvatures there can be easily detected. Endoscopic examination is not a painful procedure and can be performed easily and practically.
What causes nasal bone curvature?
The most common problems are difficulty breathing and nasal congestion. This situation becomes more disturbing at night.
Disturbing conditions such as snoring, lack of effort, fatigue, poor performance, headache, postnasal drip, cough, and situations that prevent the patient from breathing may be observed.
Problems such as pharyngitis may frequently occur due to mouth breathing at night.
The blockage prevents the sinuses from functioning normally, resulting in sinusitis problems.
As a result of sinusitis, postnasal drip may also cause laryngitis and bronchitis.
Inadequate breathing through the nose reduces oxygen intake, especially in old age, making it difficult to develop lung and heart diseases or to heal existing lung and heart diseases.
How is nasal bone curvature treated?
Since the curvature in the inner part of the nose is found in many people, if it does not cause any discomfort to the patient, treatment depends on the person’s preference. If the patient complains about the condition, the problem must be corrected and the only way to do this is surgery. None of the procedures that we frequently encounter on the internet with the phrases ‘non-surgical rhinoplasty’ or ‘Nose Filling’ will permanently solve nasal curvatures.
